A movement for the Virgin Islands

Building the future of the Virgin Islands together.

Through unity, youth investment, and community-driven action, Virgin Islands United is creating pathways toward a stronger, more connected future for all Virgin Islanders.

3 Islands. One community.
3 Focus areas of impact

From sunrise on St. Croix to sunset on St. Thomas — one shared horizon.

Why we exist

The Virgin Islands is not broken. It is disconnected.

We carry rich culture, generational talent, and uncommon resilience. What we need now is to reconnect — across neighborhoods, generations, and islands — so opportunity reaches every Virgin Islander.

Too many of our young people leave because the pathway home isn't clear. Local businesses fight to stay open. Communities feel further apart than they did a generation ago. The challenges are real — but so is what we already have to build with.

Virgin Islands United exists to close those gaps. Not with another nonprofit script, but with a movement that invests directly in youth, strengthens neighborhoods block by block, and grows an economy our people can actually live in.

What we're moving from

  • Limited opportunities for youth
  • Talent leaving the territory
  • Economic instability
  • Disconnected community systems

What we're building toward

  • Pathways for every young person
  • Talent that stays and returns
  • A diversified, local economy
  • A connected, supported community

Join us

Together, we can build the future we deserve.

One community. One future. There is room for every Virgin Islander in this movement — wherever you live, whatever you do, however much time you have to give.

About Virgin Islands United

More than an organization. A commitment to the future of the Virgin Islands.

Virgin Islands United is more than an organization. It is a commitment to the future of the Virgin Islands and the people who call these islands home.

Origin

A movement that started where every real one does — at home.

Virgin Islands United did not start in a boardroom. It started in conversations on porches, behind food trucks, in church halls, in studios after rehearsal, and at family tables where the same question kept coming up: what happens to our islands if we don't act now?

We are creatives, parents, students, business owners, teachers, public servants, and elders who decided that waiting was no longer an option. We chose to organize — locally, practically, and across every island — around the belief that unity is not a slogan. It is a strategy for survival and growth.

Three islands. One people. One future.

Our mission

What we do.

To unite communities across the Virgin Islands through programs, partnerships, and initiatives that empower youth, strengthen families, support local growth, and inspire long-term positive change.

Our vision

What we're building.

A thriving Virgin Islands where every young person has opportunity, every community has support, and every resident feels connected to a shared future.

Our pillars

Five commitments that guide every decision.

01

Unity

One people, one shared future. Collaboration over division. Community before politics. We work across neighborhoods, generations, and islands to rebuild trust and shared purpose — because no one island wins alone.

"The Virgin Islands for us ALL."
02

Youth Development

Real change starts with investing in young people. We back mentorship, education, entrepreneurship, technology, arts, leadership, and workforce pathways — the full range of what it takes for a young Virgin Islander to thrive at home.

03

Community Building

Community development is emotional and economic infrastructure. Neighborhood revitalization, local business support, food security, public spaces, transportation, cultural preservation, and family systems — we treat each one as essential.

"A thriving Virgin Islands is built block by block, family by family, business by business."
04

Economic Empowerment

Local businesses, local workers, new industries. We support entrepreneurship, business licensing, training, federal contract readiness, and prompt vendor payment standards so wealth stays in our communities.

05

Culture & Identity

Carnival, storytelling, music, food, history, language, traditions, elders. Culture is identity, memory, and economic power. Preserving and celebrating it is how we make sure the Virgin Islands stays unmistakably ours — and unmistakably alive.

Be part of it

This is your movement.

Whether you're an entrepreneur, an educator, a student, an elder, or simply someone who loves these islands — there's a place for you here.

Programs

Pathways for every Virgin Islander to learn, lead, and stay home.

Our work is organized around three connected focus areas — Community, Youth, and Entrepreneurs — all anchored by a flagship Boys & Girls Community Center on St. Thomas and on St. Croix. Each program is built in partnership with the people it serves, and each one is open to volunteers, mentors, partners, and ideas.

A note on language

Why we say "invest" instead of "donate."

Charity treats people as needing to be saved. Investment treats them as builders of their own future. Virgin Islanders are not a cause — we are partners. Your contribution is capital for a generation already working.

Together, we can build the future we deserve.

Investing today is the simplest, most direct thing you can do for the Virgin Islands. We promise to use it well — and to show you exactly how.
